The tribute to Fito & Fitipaldis performs on Friday, July 17, and Café Quijano concludes the series on Saturday, July 18, both at 22:00 in Central Park.
The Veladas en el Lago of Tres Cantos is facing its last weekend with two concerts that promise to fill Central Park with music. The double event kicks off this Friday, July 17, with Corazón Oxidado, the most faithful tribute to Fito & Fitipaldis, and concludes on Saturday, July 18, with Café Quijano, who will review their greatest hits like 'La Lola'.
Friday of Bilbao rock by the lake
The band Corazón Oxidado will take to the lake stage at 22:00 on Friday. The group, specialised in covers of Fito & Fitipaldis, will perform iconic tracks from Spanish rock over the last few decades, such as 'La casa por el tejado' or 'Por la boca vive el pez'.
According to the Tres Cantos City Council, the repertoire is designed for the audience to travel back to the best moments of the Bilbao band. Admission is free until capacity is reached, as has been customary in the series.
Closing Saturday with Café Quijano
The grand finale will be provided by Café Quijano on Saturday, July 18, also at 22:00. The León trio, known for their blend of pop, rock, and Latin rhythms, will offer a concert that revisits their biggest hits, such as 'La Lola', 'Tú eres la luz', or 'Nada de ná'.
The performance will serve to close this year's edition of the Veladas en el Lago, which has gathered thousands of locals over three weekends. The City Council highlights that the series has established itself as one of the cultural attractions of summer in Tres Cantos.
A summer series that is now a tradition
The Veladas en el Lago are part of the summer programme 'Abierto por Vacaciones', which the City Council organises to provide quality leisure for residents without leaving the municipality. This edition has seen artists such as Pitingo, Voy a pasármelo G, DePol, and Darwin take the stage.
The lakeside setting, in the heart of Central Park, has become a natural stage that attendees appreciate, especially on the hot July nights. The organisers recommend arriving early to secure a good spot in the stands or on the grass.
For those who are late, there is still the opportunity to bid farewell to the musical summer in Tres Cantos with these two concerts. And who knows, perhaps next year the City Council will be encouraged to extend the series for another weekend, as the demand seems endless.
