The flying trapeze installation in Tres Cantos, the only one of its kind in Spain, celebrates its second month of activity with courses for all ages and programmes for social entities.
The flying trapeze installation located next to the La Luz Covered Pool in Tres Cantos has completed two months of operation and is consolidating itself as a unique space in Spain for the practice of this circus discipline. Since its opening, dozens of people have participated in the activities, according to the Circo Diverso Association, which promotes the project.
A social circus project with municipal support
The initiative is driven by the Circo Diverso Association, a non-profit organization with nearly twenty years of experience in social circus, artistic training, and inclusion. In collaboration with Fly Art, they have developed this project which, according to its leaders, positions Tres Cantos as a reference municipality in circus arts within the Community of Madrid.
The Tres Cantos City Council has supported the installation to expand the municipality's sports, cultural, and leisure offerings. The municipal participation has been key to ensure that this infrastructure, which has professional equipment and specialized teaching staff, is available to the public.
The organization highlights that interest in the flying trapeze has been growing, confirming the potential for expansion of this modality in the locality. “It is a discipline that combines learning and physical development”, sources from Circo Diverso state.
Weekly courses and programmes for groups
The programme includes regular courses for all levels, both for beginners and for those with prior experience. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 18:30 to 20:30 and on Sundays in two shifts: from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00.
Additionally, the project develops specific activities for circus schools, associations, social entities, and educational projects. This line of work aims to facilitate access to circus as an educational and participatory tool, maintaining Circo Diverso's commitment to inclusion and community.
The installation, equipped with safety measures, allows participants of different ages to practice this discipline in an adapted environment. The flying trapeze works on skills such as coordination, strength, and confidence, as explained by the instructors.
A commitment to circus culture in the region
With this proposal, Tres Cantos expands its sports and cultural offerings with an unusual activity. It is the only flying trapeze installation in Spain and one of the few internationally, making it an attraction not only for locals but also for enthusiasts from other areas.
Those interested can find out more through the Circo Diverso Association or the Tres Cantos City Council. Spaces for the courses are limited, and the organization recommends booking in advance. A unique opportunity for those who have always dreamed of flying, even if it’s just a few metres off the ground.
