The Pablo Neruda Cultural Centre in Colmenar Viejo launches its most ambitious programme for the upcoming course, with 61 activities, 110 groups and 1,530 places. Registrations open on 7 September.
The 'Pablo Neruda' Cultural Centre in Colmenar Viejo has presented its programme for the 2026-2027 course, the most extensive in its history. The offer includes 61 activities distributed across 110 groups, with over 210 hours of training per week and a total of 1,530 places. The registration period will begin on 7 September at 10:00 hours.
The Councillor for Culture, Rocío Cámara Pellón, highlighted that 21 new activities are being added. “We are incorporating new features related to artificial intelligence, social media, emotional intelligence, culture and creativity,” she stated. Among the new proposals are courses on ChatGPT, flamenco cajón, improvisational theatre and gastronomic culture.
The centre will reopen on Saturdays to host some of these activities, such as vermouth tastings. The programme is structured into three trimesters: the first starts on 1 October, the second on 7 January, and the third on 29 March. Each person may request a maximum of two activities and must choose a single registration method, either online or in person, as applications submitted by both means will be annulled.
75% of the places will be allocated through online registration, while the remaining 25% will be reserved for those opting for in-person registration at the centre. Residents of Colmenar Viejo will have priority during the first days: from 7 to 15 September they can submit their applications. From 16 to 18 September, non-residents will also be able to register.
The offer is divided into several categories. In the theoretical activities section, chess, wine tasting and pairing, neurobics, art history, world history, gastronomic culture, keys to contemporary thought, classical culture, general culture, and world literature are included. All of these have a quarterly price of 76 euros.
In new technologies, courses on configuring Android phones, no-code automation with artificial intelligence, content creation for social media, artificial intelligence for multimedia creation, and virtual and augmented reality stand out. There is also a specific course on ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, all at the same quarterly price of 76 euros.
In the language area, French is taught at various levels. The complete programme can be consulted in the brochure available on the Colmenar Viejo Town Hall website. The councillor has emphasised that the aim is to consolidate the 'Pablo Neruda' as a cultural reference space in the locality.
Interested parties can register online through the form available on the municipal website. For in-person registration, they must go to the cultural centre during public hours. This year's offer surpasses the number of activities and places from previous years, reflecting the growing interest in cultural and technological training among residents.
The centre, located in the municipality, has become a meeting point for learning and creativity. With this programme, the Colmenar Viejo Town Hall seeks to respond to citizen demand and encourage participation in activities that combine tradition and innovation.
