The gathering was set for eight in the evening, but the atmosphere of a final was already palpable hours earlier in the vicinity of the Valdelasfuentes Sports City. The Alcobendas City Council had prepared a giant screen and an entertainment programme so that no one would miss the match that could return glory to Spain. And so it was: the Spanish national team triumphed over Argentina, unleashing euphoria among the thousands of attendees.
A security operation worthy of the occasion
To ensure the celebration went smoothly, the City Council mobilised 50 local police officers, including district units, the PUMA group, the canine unit, and an aerial surveillance drone. Additionally, 20 Civil Protection volunteers were present with two Semura ambulances and a rapid intervention vehicle.
