The City Council of Alcobendas and AICA launch a new edition of the consumption vouchers, with 3,000 vouchers of 5 euros to be redeemed in local shops and hospitality between September and October.

Residents of Alcobendas will be able to access from September 3,000 discount vouchers of five euros each to spend in shops and bars in the municipality. The initiative, driven by the City Council and the Association of Entrepreneurs of Alcobendas (AICA), aims to strengthen small businesses and local hospitality in a context of economic recovery.

The vouchers can be requested for free through the municipal website, and can be redeemed between September 4 and October 4 at participating establishments. Each resident can use one voucher for each purchase or minimum consumption of 15 euros, and accumulate up to four vouchers if the spending reaches 50 euros.

Requirements for businesses and hospitality

To participate, businesses must be small enterprises with fewer than 50 employees and an annual turnover of less than 10 million euros. Of the 3,000 vouchers, 2,000 will be allocated to retail and 1,000 to hospitality, as detailed by the City Council.

The registration period for interested establishments is now open. Merchants wishing to join must contact AICA or the City Council to formalise their participation.

Impact on the residents' wallets

For consumers, the discount represents a 33% saving if they spend the minimum of 15 euros. For example, a dinner for two at a participating bar could cost 10 euros less if two vouchers are accumulated. The campaign aims to foster loyalty among local buyers against large retailers and online platforms.

“We want residents to choose local commerce, which generates jobs and energises the city,” municipal sources state.

In previous editions, the vouchers sold out in a few days, so the City Council recommends keeping an eye on the website to avoid missing the opportunity. This measure is part of a broader plan to support the local business fabric.

The vouchers cannot be combined with other offers and can only be used in establishments displaying the campaign's emblem. For more information, interested parties can consult the Alcobendas page on the municipal website.
