The Alcobendas Plenary has given the final green light to the new tax regulations for 2027, which include bonuses of up to 5% for direct debit of bills and discounts for self-employed individuals, large families, and historic vehicles.

The Alcobendas City Council has definitively approved the modification of the tax regulations that will govern from 2027. The measure, which was passed in the municipal Plenary, aims to alleviate the tax burden on residents, self-employed individuals, and small businesses in the municipality.

Among the most notable new features, the bonus for direct debit of bills increases to 5%, while taxpayers opting for the staggered payment system Aplaza 6 will receive a 3% reduction. The aim, according to municipal sources, is to encourage timely payments and facilitate tax management.

Reductions in waste fees and aid for vulnerable families

The waste collection fee will also be affected. Large families practicing home composting will be able to benefit from a bonus of up to 15%. Additionally, individuals in situations of vulnerability or at risk of social exclusion will receive a reduction of up to 90% in this fee, a measure that the City Council hopes will have a direct impact on the most disadvantaged groups.

We want Alcobendas to be a fairer and more sustainable municipality, and these bonuses are in line with that, stated the councillor for Finance during the plenary debate.

Incentives for self-employed individuals, SMEs, and historic vehicles

The commercial fabric of Alcobendas will also benefit. Self-employed individuals and small businesses with establishments of up to 70 square meters will be able to access tax discounts. Likewise, the waste fee will be reduced for those businesses that use the municipal door-to-door collection service for commercial cardboard, a measure aimed at promoting recycling and sustainability.

In the mobility chapter, the vehicle tax includes a 100% bonus for historic vehicles, while cars older than 25 years will enjoy a 25% reduction in the circulation tax. A decision that, according to the City Council, aims to protect the local automotive heritage.

Claims regarding the A-1 and international solidarity

The Plenary also addressed other issues of interest to residents. Two proposals from the Popular Party and Vox were approved to demand that the Ministry of Transport clean and maintain the acoustic screens along the A-1 motorway that runs through the municipality. The initiatives, which were opposed by PSOE and Más Madrid, also request a study to integrate these structures into the urban environment.

In the realm of solidarity, the corporation unanimously approved a fund of 45,000 euros for humanitarian aid for those affected by the earthquakes recorded in Venezuela. This contribution adds to a solidarity collection organized with the local associative fabric.

The session concluded with the approval of the renaming of Vereda Corta street, which will be renamed Arsenio Inclán, and the update of the Plenary regulations to implement processing via electronic files, a measure that will expedite administrative processes.

Residents of Alcobendas will be able to consult the new tax regulations on the City Council's electronic headquarters starting in the coming weeks. The bonuses will be automatically applied to the 2027 bills, with no additional procedures required in most cases.
