A commitment to data and artificial intelligence
The Fuenlabrada council has been awarded for the digital transformation of its social services. According to the jury, the project stands out for “the transformation of the management of its social services through the use of data and technological tools to move towards a more anticipatory, close and equitable care model.”
In practice, Fuenlabrada is using data analysis and artificial intelligence to detect needs, foresee risk situations, and intervene before problems escalate. Additionally, it has incorporated robotics and other devices in the care of elderly or dependent individuals.
The councillor for Social Welfare, Raúl Hernández, has stated that “public policies are driving a real transformation of the care system through artificial intelligence and the advanced use of data, improving the detection of needs, the personalisation of support, and the efficiency of services.”
National recognition
The Haz+ Awards are an initiative of the Principality of Asturias that recognises individuals, organisations, and projects that contribute to a fairer and more supportive society in the field of social rights. In this third edition, the Asturias Food Bank Foundation, the Parkinson's Association of Asturias, the Emburria Association, the Group of Asturian Societies of Associated Work and Social Economy (Asata), and José Antonio García Santaclara have also been awarded.
For the residents of Fuenlabrada, this award represents a recognition of the City Council's work in modernising public services. The application of technology allows for more personalised and efficient care, which translates into a direct improvement in the quality of life for citizens, especially for the most vulnerable groups.
The awards ceremony will take place on September 28 in Oviedo. It will be an event where the Fuenlabrada City Council will collect the award and share its experience with the other awardees.
