Bruno Mars is repeating tonight at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid. After a first concert on Friday that left the audience in awe, the Hawaiian singer returns to the capital this Saturday, July 11 with his The Romantic Tour, a tour that has brought him back to the stage after several years without performing solo.
Concert schedule: door opening and opening acts
The venue will open its doors at 17:00 hours. From 18:00, DJ Anderson .Paak (as Pee Wee) will warm up the atmosphere, followed by singer Victoria Monét at 19:00. Bruno Mars is expected to take the stage at 20:30, although the organisers warn that the schedule may be subject to changes, so they recommend keeping an eye on the official channels.
For local residents, the concert will mean a significant increase in attendance around the stadium from mid-afternoon. Traffic disruptions and increased public transport are expected, especially on the metro and bus lines serving the San Blas-Canillejas area.
How to get to the stadium: metro, bus and access
The Riyadh Air Metropolitano is well connected by public transport. The nearest metro stations are Estadio Metropolitano and Las Musas (line 7), Canillejas and Torre Arias (line 5), and Las Rosas (line 2). By bus, the daytime EMT lines that pass nearby are 4, 28, 38, 48, 140, 153, 159, 165, 167 and E2; and the night lines N5 and N6. There are also intercity lines such as 286, 288 and 289, and at the Intermodal Area Canillejas, lines 211, 212, 213, 256, 827, 828 and the night line N204 stop.
The stadium access map is available on the Atlético de Madrid website, with all doors numbered. The tickets usually indicate the access and door number to head to, and in case of doubt, the venue staff will assist in locating. Although the organisers recommend arriving with enough time to avoid crowds, especially for local residents, who will see increased activity in the surroundings until after midnight.
Expected setlist: 27 pop and soul songs
Although there is no official repertoire confirmed for tonight, based on previous concerts of the European tour, Bruno Mars could perform up to 27 songs. Among them, classics like 24K Magic, Treasure, Locked Out of Heaven, Just the Way You Are and Uptown Funk, as well as songs from his new album like Risk It All or Die With a Smile. A medley of ballads such as It Will Rain, Grenade and When I Was Your Man is also expected.
Tonight's concert is the last chance to see Bruno Mars in Madrid on this tour. Although the artist has visited other European cities, the capital has been the only Spanish stop on The Romantic Tour. For those who are late, there are still tickets available at some sales points, although prices have skyrocketed in resale.
The Madrid City Council recommends attendees use public transport and avoid driving, as the stadium lacks parking for the general public. The estimated closing time of the venue is around 23:30, although it could be extended if the artist decides to prolong the encore. As Mars himself would say: “Just the way you are”… but with a little more rhythm.
