The Local Police of Alcalá de Henares announces the closure of Gran Canal street from August 3 to 14 for resurfacing works. Three urban bus lines will be affected.
Gran Canal street in Alcalá de Henares will remain closed to traffic for nearly two weeks starting next Monday, August 3. The reason is the resurfacing works included in the project to improve mobility and accessibility in this area, according to the Local Police.
The affected section is between Ronda de la Pescadería and Ronda del Henares. During the execution of the works, which will last until August 14, both vehicular traffic and urban bus services will be affected.
The bus lines that will experience changes in their routes are L1B, L6, and L7. The City Council indicates that alternative itineraries will be communicated at the affected stops, so users can plan their journeys.
The Local Police recommends that drivers and pedestrians respect the temporary signage installed in the area and use the marked alternative routes. They also urge caution during movements around the construction sites.
These restrictions coincide with the summer period, when traffic in the city is usually lighter, but point delays are still expected during peak hours. Residents in the area and those using public transport should be attentive to changes at the stops.
The works are part of the project to improve mobility and accessibility in the Gran Canal area, an initiative aimed at renewing the pavement of this road and facilitating pedestrian transit. The council has apologised in advance for the inconveniences and thanks the public for their cooperation during the duration of the works.
