Galapagar Town Council introduces a special schedule for parking: blue and green spaces will be free every afternoon in August from 14:00.
Galapagar Town Council has announced that, from August 1 to August 31, the Regulated Parking Service (SER) in the urban area will only operate in the mornings. This measure, applied for the first time, will allow free parking in blue and green spaces from 14:00 on weekdays.
The special schedule responds to the usual decrease in activity during the summer and aims to facilitate mobility, as well as support the commercial and hospitality activities of the municipality. According to municipal sources, it also seeks to assist residents and visitors with their errands in the town centre during summer afternoons.
With this modification, the SER will operate from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00, while Saturdays will maintain the usual schedule of 10:00 to 14:00. Parking on Sundays and holidays was already free and will continue to be so.
This measure is indefinite, meaning that this special August schedule will be repeated in the coming years. Thus, regulated spaces in the urban area will be free every afternoon this month, a new development that directly affects those travelling to Galapagar in the summer.
Drivers needing to park in the centre after two in the afternoon will be able to do so without paying the regulated fee, an advantage that adds to the usual free parking on weekends. The Town Council reminds that this measure does not affect the rest of the months of the year, during which the ordinary SER schedule remains in place.
