The Town Hall of Tres Cantos has renewed the collaboration agreement with the Tres Cantos Golf Club, endowed with 7,000 euros, to continue promoting the practice of golf among residents of all ages.
The Town Hall of Tres Cantos has once again sealed an agreement with the Tres Cantos Golf Club to promote the practice of this sport in the municipality. The renewal of the agreement, signed this Wednesday, maintains a grant of 7,000 euros aimed at financing tournaments, competitions, and sports activities throughout the year.
The mayor, Jesús Moreno, and the councillor for Sports, Eduardo Lorca, participated in the signing of the agreement alongside the club president, Gerardo Marco. The objective, as explained by Lorca, is twofold: to promote healthy lifestyle habits through golf and to increase citizen participation in the sport, both from members and residents of all ages.
Moreno highlighted that “the renewal of this agreement reaffirms the Town Hall's commitment to sports entities that work throughout the year to continue promoting physical activity and to convey values of great importance to citizens such as effort, perseverance, and overcoming challenges.”
The agreement comes after a historic season for the Tres Cantos Golf Club. The team was crowned champion of the 2025 Clubs Without Course League, an achievement that completes a unique record in the Community of Madrid. With this triumph, the club has become the only one in the region to conquer all competitions organized by the Clubs Without Course Committee of the Madrid Golf Federation: the Weekend League, the Weekday League, the Madrid Championship, and the Supercup.
The municipal grant will allow the club to continue organizing events that bring golf closer to the residents of Tres Cantos. Planned activities include tournaments for all ages and levels, as well as open days for those who wish to start in this sport. The councillor for Sports emphasized that golf is a discipline that “promotes concentration, discipline, and respect for the environment,” values that the Town Hall wants to enhance among citizens.
The Tres Cantos Golf Club, founded over a decade ago, has a pool of young talents and a senior team that has achieved success in recent years. The renewal of the agreement guarantees the continuity of its sports and training programs, which benefit around 200 direct members and numerous occasional participants.
For the residents of Tres Cantos, this collaboration represents an opportunity to practice sports outdoors in a natural environment. The club organizes classes for beginners and improvement courses, as well as internal competitions open to the community. The Town Hall encourages those interested to find out about the activities through the club's official channels.
The signing of the agreement is part of the municipal policy of support for grassroots sports and local entities. The council allocates annual budget items to clubs and sports associations to promote physical activity among the population. In the case of golf, the commitment has been backed by the club's sporting results, which have placed Tres Cantos on the map of golf without a course in the Community of Madrid.
The next objective of the Tres Cantos Golf Club is to defend the title of the Clubs Without Course League in 2026 and continue adding trophies. With municipal support, the entity is confident in maintaining its competitive level and continuing to grow in the number of members and activities.
