The Pirosanse Association opens the call for the contest, with prizes of up to 250 euros. The deadline is 15 December 2026.
The Pirosanse Association has launched the fifth edition of the Fireworks Photography Contest in San Sebastián de los Reyes. The contest, named after the municipality, is aimed at both professional and amateur photographers who wish to capture the magic of local pyrotechnic displays.
The images must reflect any manifestation of fireworks or pyrotechnics held in San Sebastián de los Reyes between 5 January and 15 December 2026. Accepted themes include pyrotechnic bursts, bouquets, or fire bulls, as long as they have taken place within the municipal area.
Each participant may submit a maximum of five original and unpublished photographs that have not been awarded or published previously. Digital retouching is allowed, but photomontages and images that do not correspond to a real event held in the locality are excluded.
Works can be sent by email to pirosanse@gmail.com or delivered in person at the office of the Department of Festivities, located in El Caserón (Plaza de la Constitución, 2), during public hours. The deadline will remain open until 15 December 2026.
The jury, jointly appointed by Pirosanse and the Department of Festivities, will consist of individuals with experience in the photographic field. The verdict will be announced before 31 December 2026.
The contest includes four prizes: the first prize is endowed with 250 euros and a trophy; the second with 125 euros and a trophy; the third with 75 euros and a trophy; and a special mention with 50 euros and a trophy. The award ceremony will take place at a public event close to the Patron Saint Festivities of San Sebastián Mártir in 2027.
Additionally, the winning image of the first prize will illustrate the promotional poster for the next edition of the contest. The association will also organise a photographic exhibition featuring the best submitted images, both finalists and awarded.
