The Spanish national team is vying for the world title next Sunday, July 19, in New York, and the Community of Madrid is preparing to experience the final in style. The Plaza de Colón, renamed Plaza Selección, will be the epicentre of the celebration, with giant screens, music, and free activities.
The venue, organised by the RFEF, will feature a large main screen, a leisure area, an official shop, and a trophy exhibition. Access is free and open until full capacity, and it is recommended to arrive early. The main entrances will be on Serrano Street, at the height of Goya and Armada Española.

The Community of Madrid has installed the largest screen in the region at the Movistar Arena, measuring 16x9 meters, with a capacity for 15,000 people. Free tickets sold out in just an hour and a half, but there are still options at other locations.
Numerous Madrid municipalities have confirmed giant screens. In Móstoles, it will be at Plaza de España; in Alcorcón, at Plaza Reyes de España; Leganés at Plaza Mayor; Fuenlabrada at Plaza de la Constitución; Pinto at Plaza del Ayuntamiento; Alcobendas next to Ciudad Deportiva Valdelasfuentes; San Sebastián de los Reyes at Plaza de la Constitución; Tres Cantos at the Fairgrounds; Paracuellos de Jarama at the Villanueva del Pardillo sports centre; Colmenar Viejo at the La Corredera Bullring; and Arganda del Rey at Plaza de la Constitución, among others.
"It's a unique opportunity to experience football in the street, with family and friends," sources from the Móstoles City Council say.
For Madrid residents who cannot travel to the centre, these locations offer a nearby alternative. Most municipalities have activated special security and mobility measures.
A Historic Sunday for Spanish Football
The Spanish national team reaches the final after a brilliant run in the tournament. Madrid fans hope to replicate the massive gatherings of previous World Cup events. The Plaza de Colón was already the scene of the celebration for the Euro 2024 title, and all signs point to it being painted red again this Sunday.
For those who prefer a more family-friendly atmosphere, Madrid Río offers an outdoor space by the river, with shaded areas and services. However, it's advisable to arrive early as capacity is limited.
In short, Madrid is preparing for a day of football and celebration. On Sunday, at 21:00 Spanish time, the Spanish national team will seek its second World Cup. Where will you watch it?
