Giulietta, Fellina, La Cerda de Chueca and La Morenilla offer fresh recipes and cold drinks for the high temperatures.
When the thermometer exceeds 35 degrees in Madrid, the kitchen turns to light dishes and refreshing drinks. Grupo Le Cocó, owner of four restaurants in the capital, has designed a gastronomic offer aimed at the hottest days, featuring Mediterranean recipes, seasonal ingredients, and cold cocktails.
The group's Italian establishments, Giulietta and Fellina, are two of the places where this proposal can be enjoyed. At Giulietta, the Vitello Tonnato stands out as a starter: slow-cooked beef accompanied by a fine tonnata sauce. Fellina, with locations in Chamberí and Arturo Soria, opts for burrata with tomato tartare, black olives, and basil ice cream, as well as the caprese with buffalo mozzarella, a summer classic.
Drinks also play a key role. Both Italian restaurants serve traditional aperitifs such as Aperol Spritz, Bellini, or Negroni, ideal for enjoying outdoors. Additionally, the Sorbete Giulietta concludes the meal with a sweet and cold touch.
In the heart of Chueca, La Cerda de Chueca offers informal dining designed for sharing. Its Ensaladilla rosa and Pani puri with marinated salmon are two of the light options on the menu. The cocktail 'La guinda la pones tú' completes the experience, tailored for summer nights.
Meanwhile, La Morenilla reinterprets Spanish classics with a modern twist. Its tomatillo salmorejo with avocado and marinated tuna is a fresh version of the traditional dish. The porchetta sandwich with basil mayonnaise and semi-dried tomatoes combines intense flavours in a space that evokes popular fairs.
Grupo Le Cocó's proposal aims to offer gastronomic alternatives for those who want to eat well without sacrificing lightness during heatwaves. All restaurants feature terraces where diners can linger over dessert, a common plan in the capital during the summer.
According to sources from the group, the selection of dishes and cocktails will be available throughout the summer season. Prices range from 12 to 25 euros per dish, depending on the establishment. For those preferring an aperitif, cocktails average around 10 euros.
The offer arrives at a time when temperatures in Madrid frequently exceed 35 degrees, prompting many locals to seek fresh options for their meals. Grupo Le Cocó, with a presence in various areas of the city, joins this trend with recipes that prioritise seasonal produce and light cooking.
Interested parties can consult the full menus on each restaurant's website or book directly to secure a table on the terrace, as demand tends to be high in July and August.
