The Town Hall of Torrejón de Ardoz has launched a new edition of the 'Sube-T' programme, featuring free nightlife activities for young people aged 14 to 25. The events will take place on Fridays and Saturdays in parks and municipal facilities.

The 'Sube-T' programme returns to Torrejón de Ardoz with more than a dozen activities including dancing, sports, urban music, board games, photography, treasure hunts, hiking, and various workshops. The municipal initiative, which takes place on Friday and Saturday nights, aims to provide healthy leisure alternatives for the young people of the municipality.

The activities will be held in open public spaces and municipal facilities such as the skatepark, the Leisure Park, Juncal Park, Zarzuela Park, Water Park, and the football fields in the Las Fronteras neighbourhood. The programme is led by an educator and a socio-cultural animator, along with other technicians trained specifically in addiction prevention.

Prevention of risky behaviours

The main objective of the programme is to prevent substance use and other addictive behaviours among young people in Torrejón. According to the Town Hall, the activities are designed to promote the physical and mental well-being of participants, encourage active lifestyles, and contribute to socialisation and personal development.

The monitors in charge of the sessions also provide materials for drug use prevention and inform about harm reduction and risk management actions. The programme is partially funded by the Ministry of Health and has been awarded at the national level as the second prize in the category of best community prevention good practice in the VI Call for Good Practices by the FEMP in 2016.

For the young people of Torrejón de Ardoz, this is an opportunity to enjoy the summer with attractive and free plans, away from the risks of conventional nightlife. The activities cater to different tastes: from sports enthusiasts to photography lovers or board game fans.

A summer with alternatives

The 'Sube-T' programme is establishing itself as an essential event in the city's summer calendar. Residents of Torrejón de Ardoz can check the full schedule through the programme's social media, on the Instagram account @subet_torrejon, or by scanning the QR codes on the informative posters distributed throughout the municipality.

The initiative started on July 17 and will continue every Friday and Saturday night throughout the summer. Interested individuals can go directly to the activity points without prior registration, although it is recommended to follow the social media for any last-minute changes due to weather conditions.

With this programme, Torrejón de Ardoz reinforces its commitment to responsible and fun youth leisure, demonstrating that prevention and fun can go hand in hand. A proposal that, given the success of previous editions, promises to fill the nights of Torrejón with activity and a good atmosphere.
