The Madrid power forward Iván Cruz returns to Flexicar Fuenlabrada for the 2026-27 season. He comes from being the top rebounder of Primera FEB and the highest-rated Spanish player.
Flexicar Fuenlabrada has announced the return of Iván Cruz, a 34-year-old power forward who shone last season in Primera FEB as the highest-rated Spanish player and the top rebounder in the category. The agreement, the first signing of the Fuenlabrada team for 2026-27, strengthens the interior game with a player who previously wore the Fernando Martín jersey.
Cruz arrives after an outstanding season at CB Zamora, where he averaged 12.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, with a 44.6% success rate from three-point range and 82% from the free-throw line. His average rating of 15.9 credits made him the most outstanding Spanish player in the competition.
ACB Experience and Interior Versatility
The Madrid player has accumulated 119 matches in the Liga Endesa with teams such as Real Betis, Surne Bilbao Basket, Río Breogán, La Laguna Tenerife, and Casademont Zaragoza. His ability to play both power forward and centre, combined with his outside shooting, fits the needs of the team led by coach Javier Múgica.
The club president, José Quintana, highlighted at the presentation event that “Iván is a proven player, with Fuenlabrada DNA and who knows the category perfectly. His experience in the ACB will give us an extra edge in competitiveness.” For his part, the player expressed his excitement: “I’m coming home, to a club that gave me a lot and where I want to contribute my best basketball to achieve promotion.”
First Piece of the Puzzle for Promotion
With this signing, Fuenlabrada takes the first step in the construction of a squad aiming to be at the top. After securing the continuity of several key pieces from the previous block, the sports management is now looking for a quality point guard and shooting guard to complete the perimeter. The fans, who have already shown their enthusiasm on social media, hope that Cruz will replicate the numbers that led him to be the top rebounder (7.3 rebounds per game) and that in his five best games of last season, he recorded performances such as 21 points and 9 rebounds against Fibwi Palma, or 19 points and 14 rebounds against CB Zamora.
Flexicar Fuenlabrada is preparing for an exciting season, with a Fernando Martín pavilion that will once again be filled with fans dreaming of a return to the ACB. The transfer market is still open, and the Madrid club promises more movements in the coming weeks.
