Tres Cantos kicks off the sixth edition of the Veladas en el Lago, a series of free outdoor concerts in the Central Park. Tonight, Pitingo will perform, followed by a tribute to Hombres G tomorrow Saturday.
The Central Park of Tres Cantos becomes the epicentre of the cultural summer of the municipality from tonight. The VI edition of the Veladas en el Lago starts at 22:00 with a performance by Pitingo, who will present his show Pitingo y Punto, a fusion of flamenco, soul, and Latin rhythms. Admission is free until capacity is reached.
Music for all audiences
Tomorrow Saturday, July 4, at the same time, it will be the turn of ‘Voy a Pasármelo G’, a vibrant tribute to the greatest hits of Hombres G. The show invites the audience to sing and dance along to iconic Spanish pop songs in a dynamic and participatory format. Both events are free.
The Department of Culture, the organiser of the series, has aimed to maintain the essence of previous years: open-air concerts in a privileged setting, that of the lake in Central Park, which becomes a meeting point for residents and visitors of all ages.
A monumental sculpture as a new symbol
Those who approach the lake will also be able to see the new monumental sculpture Paola. La mirada, by the artist Iván Gómez. The work is inaugurated today and is presented as a new symbol of this iconic space in Tres Cantos, reinforcing the cultural and artistic character of the city.
The large-scale sculpture joins other artistic elements in the park and aims to become a point of reference for walkers and lovers of urban art.
Nature and environmental education at Las Vaquerizas
In addition to music, the City Council has scheduled parallel activities. Until September 30, the Environmental Classroom Las Vaquerizas hosts the exhibition ‘CRAS Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente: rehabilitating wildlife’, showcasing the work of the Wildlife Recovery Centre of the Community of Madrid. Admission is free.
Residents can also visit the classroom to learn about the organic garden, biodiversity, and sustainability. Additionally, there are Environmental Routes of Tres Cantos, with different themes and paths, ideal for enjoying nature in summer.
The Department of the Environment has highlighted the importance of offering proposals that combine leisure and ecological awareness, especially aimed at families.
Film and youth leisure for the summer
The Department of Youth has launched a new edition of ‘Cine a tu aire’, an initiative for young residents of the municipality aged between 12 and 35. Until July 7, 50 double tickets will be raffled off to enjoy a film at the Odeón Cinemas in Tres Cantos, before July 31. To participate, follow the instructions on the Instagram account @juventud3c.
Moreover, the Vértice Youth Centre offers workshops, camps, and other activities throughout the summer. All information and registrations are available at www.juventud.trescantos.es.
The cultural and leisure offerings in Tres Cantos for this weekend are extensive and varied, with proposals ranging from music to environmental education, art, and cinema. Residents and visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a summer full of outdoor activities in a natural setting with free entry.
