The second person involved in the crime of Jonathan Pinto, which occurred on July 7 outside a bar in Añelo, surrendered to justice. The prosecution charged him with simple homicide as a co-author, and the judge ordered six months of preventive detention.
The man identified as R. I. M., alleged co-author of Jonathan Pinto's murder, voluntarily surrendered at the Judicial City accompanied by his lawyer. The prosecutor in the case, Eugenia Titanti, brought charges against him for simple homicide as a co-author, and the judge of guarantees, Juan Manuel Kees, ordered his preventive detention for six months.
The events date back to July 7, when around 11:00 PM, on street 1 between 11 and 13 in Añelo, a fight broke out. According to the accusation, R. I. M. began to harass a woman from the victim's group of friends inside a bar, which led to a confrontation. After being expelled, the brothers R. I. M. and V. A. C. waited for Pinto outside and brutally attacked him.
The prosecution detailed that V. A. C. repeatedly stabbed Pinto while R. I. M. beat him. The victim managed to run a few meters but collapsed. The autopsy revealed a massive thoracic hemorrhage from a stab wound that perforated his heart, in addition to six other cuts and multiple bruises.
The Escape and Surrender of the Second Suspect
After the attack, the brothers fled in a Fiat Cronos. The police arrested V. A. C. minutes later as he attempted to return to the bar, while R. I. M. remained a fugitive until his voluntary surrender. The prosecutor requested preventive detention to prevent flight risks and obstruction of the investigation, and the judge granted it for six months.
Judge Kees also set a four-month deadline for the closure of the investigation. V. A. C. had already been charged on July 9 and remains in prison. The case is progressing with the theory that both acted in complicity to commit the homicide.
The community of Añelo remains shocked by the violence of the incident. Neighbors in the area have expressed their concern for safety around nightlife venues, although authorities have not reported any additional measures.
The case highlights the importance of citizen collaboration and swift police action to clarify violent crimes. The investigation continues to determine if there are other individuals involved or aggravating factors.
