MotoGP rider Marc Márquez has revealed in an interview the details of his substantial wealth, which includes a home in Pozuelo de Alarcón valued at €10 million and a base salary of €12 million annually at Ducati.
At 33 years old, Marc Márquez is one of the Spanish athletes with the greatest earning potential. The eight-time MotoGP world champion has shared in an interview his financial philosophy and the wealth he has accumulated throughout his career. The rider from Cervera confessed that even at 20 years old he was earning a million euros, but he always prioritised the sporting project over money.
The real estate gem of Pozuelo de Alarcón
Among his most notable investments is the house he owns in the exclusive La Finca development in Pozuelo de Alarcón. The property is valued at €10 million and exceeds 1,300 square metres. It features seven bedrooms, a swimming pool, and complete leisure areas. Márquez himself stated casually:
My house in Pozuelo is worth 10 million.
This home has become the main symbol of his economic success, although the rider claims he does not flaunt his fortune. The estate is located in one of the most sought-after areas of the Community of Madrid, where other celebrities and elite athletes reside.
Million-euro salary at Ducati and advertising deals
Márquez's signing with Ducati represented a significant economic leap. He receives a base salary close to €12 million per season, to which bonuses for objectives and victories are added. This is further supplemented by his agreements with well-known brands in the sports and technology sectors, which further increase his annual income.
The rider has worked since the beginning with a lawyer and a specialised manager who help him organise his finances with a forward-looking approach. His strategy has always been clear: prioritise the best bike possible and trust that the money would come later. And that has indeed been the case.
Few indulgences: only two cars in his entire life
Despite his substantial wealth, Márquez maintains that money has not changed his way of living. He keeps the same relationship with his surroundings as always and claims that he does not need to show off. He has even stated that, beyond his house, he does not indulge in great luxuries. In the interview, he confessed:
In my whole life, I have bought two cars. First, a Porsche Turbo S, but I sold it with 4,000 kilometres because I didn’t use it; I was embarrassed to drive that car. Then I bought an Audi RS6, which I sold yesterday. What I do spend money on is vans and training bikes.
This statement surprises due to the rider's modesty, as he prefers to invest in his passion for two wheels rather than in luxury cars. For the residents of Pozuelo, knowing that one of the most important figures in world motorcycling lives in their municipality adds a touch of local pride. Márquez's next race will be this weekend at the Sachsenring circuit, where he will seek his tenth victory.
